I Remember!

Here I sit and ponder, about the world in change,
how the daily news sound uncertain and strange,
I think 'Oh my goodness' the world's going crazy
how so many people are just selfish and lazy!

I look at my poppy that I wear with pride,
for all the soldiers who have served and died,
who left behind loved ones and went afar,
to fight for freedom, for a life with no war!

For the people who gave their lives for our Land,
today, on guard for Thee I will stand!
At 11:11 on the 11th of November,
I will never forget and always remember!

Wind at our back

I can't wait 'til the Summer,
for this cold to be gone,
for the leaves to be sprouting,
and those spring-morning runs!

When we pack our horse,
and polish its chrome,
dressed in leather and cool,
call the highway our own.

Imagine the fun
those roads heel to us
Our days in the sun,
with a tank full of gas.

When the winds kiss our cheeks,
in the mid-summer day,
when the rays of the sun,
will guide our way.

 Can you promise me, babe,
that this winter so hard,
is just step on the road,
where we're never apart!

All my love,
ICP

One more time?

He told me he wears his heart on his sleeve,
I told him that my heart had been broken again.
He called me beautiful and meant it,
I called him, because I was lonely.
He made me laugh even so I didn't want to,
I made the decision to let go of the pain.
He send me flowers without a reason,
I send out that letter that I've been holding on to.
He held my hand when I was weak,
I held onto the moment and let go of the past.
He promised everything will be all-right,
I promised me to put myself first.
he asked me to be his future,
I asked myself should I risk one more time
He kissed me and
                I kissed him back!

I had a dream, that I went through a metamorphosis,
Somebody was  peeling off a layer that's called youth
and wrapped a worn out cape called age around me.

The Way of Life
by Ilona Rosenthal-Payne

One day you stroll, through a meadow of light,
With your eyes wide open, full of joy and delight.
You feel as you are without worries and strife,
as you stumble along on the footpath of life.

You take a wee break, in this valley abound,
just minding the silence, like a heavenly sound.
You refresh in this moment of calmness and peace,
while you feel the kiss of a reviving breeze.

You continue your journey, but the lights disappear,
while darkness carries in a haze of fear.
Your gaze is focused on the mountain ahead,
and your self is whispering to give up instead.

You lift  up your head, take a step at the time,
with hope in your heart, to the top you'll climb.
You don't look back, leave the worries behind,
with love in your heart and hope in your mind.

Every journey you take will have shadows and gloom,
but after the rain, the flowers will bloom.
Enjoy every step on life's changing way,
and treasure the love you'll find every day!

When the road is calling his name

by Ilona Rosenthal-Payne

You still can taste that last burning kiss,
when your heart hurt so softly,
by the touch of his lips.
When you looked in his eyes,
full of sadness and hope,
and he touched your heart
in the most mysterious way.
When you waved Good Bye,
with tears in your eyes,
when he told you he loves you
while holding your hand.
When you knew that those miles
aren't light years away.
What the distance had taught you,
was that love doesn't leave,
on highway up North,
or on a barge going East.
All the roads that he'll travel,
all the miles he'll put on,
he'll always come back
to his heart and his home.

Sadness

by Ilona Rosenthal-Payne

When a heart is hurt, everything changes
the world you loved suddenly disappears,
all that's left is the shell of another new day,
into which you stumble with no direction.

When hurt holds you hostage and fear is your friend,
when the raging wind of change blows into your face
and fury burns like raging fire in the depth of your soul,
when life lost it's fragrance like the withered rose in the sun.

When memories kiss you onto your cheek at night,
and you pray to God to be strong one more time,
when the dawn of the day is light years away,
and darkness hovers over you like a ghost of the past.

That's when you need to search for the voice of your soul,
that's whispering to you softly a promise of hope,
don't stay in the darkness come into the light,
where the sun is shining and the rose is in bloom.

Let a new day begin with a sunset of joy,
give thanks to the blessings that surround you today,
take a walk with your friend, sing your children to sleep,
don't surrender to sorrow but let love lead your way.

To my love on Valentine

by Ilona Rosenthal Payne

Have you ever had a beautiful dream,
where all was good and love was the scene?
And then you wake up in an old, dreary morning,
the toast is burnt and the car shows a warning.

You make it  to work, put a smile on your face,
start today's big load in your small little space.
When the door opens up and your heart skips a beat,
when he looks in your eyes and knocks you off your feet.

That day was the day, when I woke up to a dream,
where live is good, and love is the scene.
That day was the day, when I met you, My Love,
and I'm eternally thankful to the giver above.

I love you!

Sunday 8 December 2013

To my girl

I will keep you forever close to my heart,
even life's busy errands often keep us apart.

The memories we shared since the day we first met,
a moment of of wonder that I will never forget.

When I first took a glance at your beautiful face,
the prettiest girl and my own saving grace.

I wish to provide all your dreams and your wishes,
will always be waiting for my love and my kisses.

You're my beacon of love that lights up the night,
when my life seems dark, you're giving me light.

Your hand I will hold, I will always be near,
will always protect you everyday that I'm here.

Always know I'll be where ever you go,
I will love you much more than you'll ever know.

If Heaven only knew, how much Earth is missing you!

I walk along that mossy path, with a heart weighed down by sorrow.
I'm praying for the strength in me to find hope for tomorrow,
I hold my daughter's hand in mine while silently proceeding,
treading to your resting place where this mossy path is leading.

I feel a tear roll down my face, like many have been shed,
I glance upon my daughter's face and kiss her on the head.
Embraced by memories of Mother's love,
Missing her deeply, in dispute with above.

I close my eyes and take a deep breath,
thinking about this encounter with death,
How he stole in a moment our peace and delight
the derangements he left, like a thief in the night.

How life has changed in a blink of an eye,
how yesterday's laughter has now passed us by.
Like the flowers on the grave will wither away,
time will heal a bit more every day.

But the hole in my heart will never be filled,
We miss you mother, grandma and friend
The Angels will now take care of you
If Heaven only knew how much Earth is missing you!

Drip, Drop, Drip, Drop

by Ilona Rosenthal Payne

Raindrops singing me a song, the wind is blowing,
I don't feel alone
It's a song full of hope, full of calmness and peace,
I listened with a awwww with a cat on my feet

But all of a sudden,I heard no more rain,
but the gunshots out far, my heart filled with pain.
Where is my rain?
Why is there war?
Where is the hope that once was not far?

Why can't there be news, that countries agreed,
that for every weapon a needy they'll feed.
Where we hold hands in union, with candles in our hand,
to remember the ones that kept peace in this Land.

Let judgement be spoken, like you were on trial,
and let others be right, once in a while.
Love your neighbours even so they are rather bizarre,
Love your children, of course, because that's who you are!

Every Day

by Ilona Rosenthal Payne, 2012

Live every day like it would be your last,
leave yesterday's trouble be in the past.
Keep your eyes focused on the road that's ahead,
don't ever give up but keep walking instead.

Love every day unconditionally and true,
because what you give out always comes back to you.
Never put your head to rest when you're mad,
but ask for forgiveness before going to bed.

Hope every day that you get one more chance,
to talk to your mother while holding her hand.
Help out your Vater without a delay,
because the one that giveth can taketh away!

And when your time comes I hope you can say:
I'd live my life the very same way.
I'd count the blessings each and every day,
not the once I received but the ones I gave away.
